Research topics:

The research group’s activity – guided by Data Design and the Systemic Innovation Design Methodology – promotes the connection between the culture of sustainable design and the food system, with a focus on scenarios of consumption, production, and systemic circularity, aligned with the main domains of Design with Food, Design for Food, and Design about Food.
The research activity is dedicated to sustainable innovation with an entrepreneurial vision.

Among the research topics in product design, a predominant area is food design, which ranges from food products to tools for food display and consumption, from sustainable packaging design to circular product design applied to large household appliances (R1 and R2 categories).

The second area involves the analysis of agrifood supply chains through a systemic design methodology and the use of by-products according to circular economy principles, promoting industrial symbiosis and the valorization of secondary raw materials. This area also includes a research focus on food waste along the entire supply chain.

The third area concerns communication design, data visualization, design for cultural heritage in the food domain, interaction design, UX, and UI design.
